About / Contact

I'm Jim, a composer, musician and recording engineer living in London.

I released several EPs under the name Looking Glass before starting a new project Blurred Moon last year. My music has been played on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music by Lauren Laverne, Marc Riley, Steve Lamacq, Radcliffe & Maconie, Gideon Coe and more.

Since 2016, I've been producing, engineering and mixing at the Bella Union studio at Strongroom in Shoreditch, working with Will Stratton, Simon Love, Me For Queen, Our Man In The Field and many more, as well as recording my own projects.

In 2017, I also began making music for film, scoring Kivu Ruhorahoza's upcoming feature A Tree Has Fallen and Superfolk Films' award-winning short Dial-A-Ride.

From 2005 to 2015, I played drums and keys for My Sad Captains, releasing two albums on Stolen Recordings (East India Youth, Bo Ningen) and a third on Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, Flaming Lips). I helped produce the last two of these and mixed the band's b-sides throughout. I've played drums live and in the studio for several artists in recent years, including Will Stratton, Psychic Markers and Johnny Lloyd.

I'm always looking for new opportunities for writing, recording or performing. You can reach me by email here.
